rules on ip address Empty rules on ip address

ok this is a tricky one, went away this weekend and let my sister look after my house and she had a bit of a drink and a party cos it was her birthday, i told her if she wasnt too pissed to sign up to skybet and play in the 1k freeroll, she has done this and managed to win it for £300, so only fair that i said i wanted £100 for informing her of this opportunity. anyway sky have been pissing her about wanting bank statements and everything, she has done all this and sent them in and then they said your account has now been re opened, so she tried to withdraw £250 and leave £50 on for poker but they have suspended her account again because she played from my ip address, whats the rules on this cos i have seen some high stakers on sky poker saying that they regurly play from each others houses? apparently they just phoned her and said they dont know whats gonna happen with account as they need to wait for a few emails from certain people before deciding what to with the account and the £300, could she get in a legal team to try and sort it out if they kepping the £300 or is it what they say goes?

I think as long as you can prove you are 2 different people and not multi accounting then they will be fine with it. Like you said there are many people who play from th same IP address, and once they are sure you are not just trying to "Scam" the system they will let it go.

I'm guessing that is what the bank statements are for, after that I can't see a reason why it has been frozen again.

My view is simple on this... maybe a bit too simple...

If they were willing to take her money, from your IP address, they should have no problem giving it back via the same IP address.

It's slightly unclear from your post Webby: when you say she's started an account and had a win with Sky before, was that at your place/on your IP? If that's the case, and there's a history of a family member – playing from the same house – which, let's face it, is entirely plausible, then there's no question; she needs her money back.

If she's used an old account (started from another IP), and then played from yours, then similarly; no problem.

If she started an account from elsewhere for her first win, and then started a second account from your IP... then I'd suspect you're in trouble.

From the casino's point of view, they do have to be careful, because the sums of money they handle are mind-boggling, and since 9/11, everyone's got the shits about where money comes from and goes to. The largest single bank deposit transfer that funded the 9/11 attack, was just $29,000. That's supposedly why these people are careful.

However, some of these use that as an excuse. I remember putting $40 on Rushmore and my deposit sailed through. I quickly got that up to $275 on Roulette, and thought: Right, that's me, off. Would they let me withdraw? No.

Took me months of phoning, faxing and emails to get it sorted.

Fight the good fight, I'm sure Sky will play ball and see reason. If you haven't done so already, send them scans of: Passport/driving license and utility bill or bank statement.
